Nervous system regulation refers to the ability to consciously influence and balance the activity of your nervous system through a combination of theoretical understanding and practical techniques.


Regulating the nervous system supports better sleep, emotional balance, healthier relationships, and improved performance at work. It helps build resilience and adaptability, allowing you to respond to challenges with greater clarity and calm rather than reacting from a place of stress or overwhelm.

Ultimately, it enhances your overall well-being and quality of life by fostering sustainable self-awareness and nervous system plasticity.

What to expect?

I usually coach nervous system regulation through a series of three sessions.

Each session includes a combination of theory and practice:

Session 1: Discovery & Foundational Practices (90min)

This session begins with an exploration of your current goals, challenges, lifestyle habits, and any previous attempts at nervous system regulation. Through this intake, we identify your priorities—whether that’s improving sleep quality, enhancing relationships, or boosting work performance—while developing and nurturing a flexible and resilient nervous system.

I will then introduce three foundational nervous system regulation techniques, which we will practice together.

We’ll also cover the basics of the nervous system—its structure and function—so you can build a theoretical understanding of what you’re exploring.

Session 2: Practice Review & Personalised Adjustments (45min)

In this follow-up session, we review your experience with the practices introduced in Session 1. We’ll focus on the effort you’ve put in and the impact on your sleep and stress levels. Together, we’ll iterate on any techniques that felt less effective and tailor them to better suit your lifestyle.

We may also add regulation strategies strategies for upregulation or down regulation. This iterative process ensures that you develop a practical and responsive approach to balance your nervous system amid daily demands.

Session 2: Practice Review & Personalised Adjustments (45min)

Session 3: Customised Toolbox & Sustainable Integration (45min)

The final session focuses on consolidating a personalised toolbox of nervous system regulation practices. Together, we’ll select the most effective, sustainable methods based on your desired outcomes—whether that’s deep, restful sleep, staying calm in relationships, or consistent work performance.

You’ll be equipped with strategies for both up- and down-regulation, guided by self-awareness and supported by routines that promote long-term well-being. The emphasis is on integrating these tools seamlessly into your daily life to foster lasting self-regulation and resilience.

I usually recommend 1 to 2 weeks between Sessions 1 and 2 so you have the opportunity to try the practices in different settings and observe the outcomes.

Between Sessions 2 and 3, I recommend a gap of 4 to 5 weeks to give you more time to train before finalising your toolbox.
